Abstract

Science, technology, and information exchange are rapidly developing today. Such development affects the vocabulary of all languages, as new terms emerge in the language system as a result of changes in socio-political life, the development of science and technology, and the advancement of culture and art. This article analyzes the processes of formation of new terms in Modern Arabic, their morphological features, and the main methods of term formation. The role of derivation (ishtiqāq), arabization (ta‘rīb), and blending (naḥt) in creating new terms in Arabic is explained with examples.
