Socio-Geographical Features of the Development of Pilgrimage Tourism in the Lower Amudarya Region

This article analyzes the socio-geographical features of the development of pilgrimage tourism in the Lower Amudarya region. The study examines sacred sites in the region, their spatial distribution, tourism infrastructure, and the territorial patterns of pilgrim flows. In addition, the socio-economic, natural-geographical, and cultural factors influencing the development of pilgrimage tourism are identified and their interrelationships are explored. The paper also discusses the prospects for the development of pilgrimage tourism in the region, existing challenges, and possible solutions. The results of the research contribute to the development of scientific and practical recommendations for the effective organization of regional tourism and the rational use of pilgrimage tourism potential
