This article explores modern approaches to developing linguistic competence in English language learning. It examines innovative teaching methodologies such as the communicative approach, task-based learning, blended learning, and the integration of digital technologies in the classroom. The study highlights the importance of learner-centered instruction, authentic materials, and interactive activities in enhancing students’ language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Furthermore, the article discusses the role of critical thinking, collaboration, and cultural awareness in fostering comprehensive linguistic competence. The findings suggest that combining traditional methods with modern pedagogical strategies significantly improves learners’ communicative abilities and overall language proficiency
