This article highlights the role of folklore as a national value, its importance in the life of the people and its educational power. The author analyzes folklore as an important factor that reflects the historical memory, spiritual heritage and identity of the people. The transmission of oral works from generation to generation, their influence on the development of modern culture and art are also shown. The need to preserve and develop folklore in the context of globalization is emphasized.
