Early Diagnosis of Brain Herniation in Brain Tumors
Keywords:
brain tumors, brain displacement, intracranial hypertensionAbstract
Brain displacement (herniation) is one of the most dangerous complications of central nervous system tumors and often determines disease severity and outcome. Early diagnosis of brain displacement allows timely modification of treatment strategies and prevention of lifethreatening conditions. This article provides a systematic analysis of clinical, neuroimaging, and neurophysiological signs of early brain displacement in patients with brain tumors of various localizations. Mechanisms of intracranial hypertension, types of brain displacement, and their diagnostic features are discussed. The importance of a comprehensive diagnostic approach using clinical assessment, MRI, CT, and intracranial pressure monitoring is emphasized
